Privacy

Lowmina has no accounts and shows no ads. Most of what you do here stays in your own browser. This page lists everything that does leave it.

What stays in your browser

My list. The foods you add to your list are saved in your browser's local storage. They are never sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes them.

The shopping-list checker. The text you paste is matched against our food list inside your browser and is not sent anywhere. The only exception is the "suggest this food" button: if you press it, the name you suggested (up to 60 characters) is recorded as a usage event, described below.

Usage statistics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages and tools are useful. It records the pages you view (without any search text in the address), the site that sent you, your device and browser type, and your approximate location. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We also record a few events, for example searches (the number of results, not what you typed), foods added to a list, printed lists, and checker runs (how many lines matched, not the text).

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google Analytics sets no cookies on this site and receives no identifier for your browser. Elsewhere it sets first-party cookies so it can tell new visits from returning ones. Advertising features and Google signals are turned off everywhere, and we do not share the data with anyone for advertising.

You can block Google Analytics with most content blockers or with Google's opt-out add-on. The site works the same without it.

App waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we store your email address, the page you signed up from and the time. We use it once, to tell you when the tracker app launches. To have it deleted, email [email protected].

Hosting

The site and the waitlist database run on our own server at DigitalOcean in Amsterdam, and every request passes through Cloudflare first. Like any web host, Cloudflare and our server process your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. The server's access logs keep it for 14 days, then delete it.
